Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading complex engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring all technical efforts are delivered on time and within budget. This role serves as the technical lead, ensuring designs meet all customer specifications and requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers, and will contribute significantly to proposal development and project planning. Additionally, this role will provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget
  • Ensure design compliance with all project requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
  • Participate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals
  • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
  • Serve as a communication pathway between the customer and the project team
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals through relationships with line management and the Program Office
  • Balance customer demands against contract scope and schedule to facilitate high quality on-time deliverables

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge
  • Expected to have knowledge and experience in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to independently lead a team of engineers to complete a complex project or projects

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
