Job Summary:
Seeking a Project Engineer to support materials testing and rig development programs for advanced engineering applications. The successful candidate will coordinate testing activities, execute project tasks, manage logistics and procurement activities, and support technical reporting of test results. This role works closely with engineering, laboratory, operations, and program teams to ensure successful execution of materials evaluation and validation programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support materials testing programs utilizing laboratory and component test rigs.
* Coordinate and execute project activities associated with rig development programs.
* Perform basic project engineering activities, including planning, scheduling, tracking deliverables, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
* Manage project schedules, action items, technical documentation, and program milestones.
* Execute materials test plans and support laboratory testing activities.
* Collect, analyze, document, and report test data to engineering and program stakeholders.
* Enter and maintain test results and project information within company databases and records systems.
* Support procurement activities including test article acquisition, supplier coordination, and material tracking.
* Manage shipment, receipt, inventory, and movement of test articles, hardware, and laboratory materials.
* Utilize NX or SolidWorks to review engineering models, drawings, test fixtures, and rig designs.
* Support preparation of technical presentations, status reviews, and briefings for senior leadership.
* Coordinate project logistics, scheduling, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
* Perform additional project, laboratory, and administrative support activities as required.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree Mechanical/Aerospace engineering + 1- 2+ years work experience. Or Masters degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering + 0-2 years of work experience
* Experience supporting engineering projects, laboratory testing, materials testing, or research and development programs.
* Proficiency with NX and/or SolidWorks CAD software.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
* Basic project engineering and project management experience.
* Strong technical documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
* Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, and engineering data management systems.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
* Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial engineering experience.
* Experience supporting materials laboratories or component testing programs.
* Familiarity with test rig design, development, and operation.
* Experience reviewing engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
* Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
* Experience presenting technical information to engineering leadership and senior management.
* Knowledge of statistical analysis and test data interpretation.
