Job description

Description:

About DynamiX

DynamiX builds exceptional, conversion-focused websites and digital experiences powered by our proprietary Octane™ platform. We're an Inc. 5,000 Fastest Growing Company and a Top Small Business in Cobb County (7 years running), with over 1,400 awards for our client work. Our culture is built on three core values: Do it right or don't do it. There are no trade secrets - share everything. If it's not maintainable, it's not a solution.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Junior Controller to help us keep our financial house in order - someone who's detail-obsessed, comfortable owning the books, and excited to grow into a larger finance leadership role as the company scales.

About the Role

The Junior Controller will own the full scope of accounting and financial operations for DynamiX, reporting directly to the CEO. While there is no on-site Controller, this role won't be figuring things out alone: DynamiX is a portfolio company of Alderman Enterprises, a Chattanooga-based holding company, and this position will have a strong dotted-line relationship to Alderman's finance team who will provide technical oversight.

In short, you'll carry full Controller-level responsibility for DynamiX's books, with the benefit of experienced financial leadership backing you up. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who wants real ownership early in their career, with a clear runway to grow into a Controller or Finance Manager role as DynamiX continues to expand.

Reporting Structure

· Reports to: CEO, DynamiX

· Dotted-line support: Alderman Enterprises finance team, providing technical guidance and oversight in lieu of an on-site Controller

What You'll Do

· Own day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger activity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close

· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the CEO and Alderman Enterprises

· Cross-functional collaboration with sales and operations

· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments

· Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax withholding and reporting requirements

· Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and monitor cash flow

· Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, in partnership with the CEO and Alderman's finance team

· Ensure compliance with GAAP and manage preparation for annual Financial Statement Review and tax filings alongside outside CPAs

· Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation

· Build and refine accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems as the company scales - leveraging guidance from Alderman's finance team where helpful

· Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial matters at DynamiX, escalating and collaborating with CEO & Alderman Enterprises on more complex/unfamiliar matters

· Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests

What You Bring

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

· 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role (agency, professional services, or small-to-midsize company experience is a plus)

· Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles

· Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills

· High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines

· Clear communication skills, with the confidence to flag issues and ask questions

· A proactive, "do it right" mindset - you take ownership of your work rather than waiting to be told what to do

Nice to have:

· Experience with financial reporting tools or ERP systems

· Exposure to a marketing, digital agency, or Saas business model

· Progress toward or interest in CPA certification or applicable continuing education

Why You'll Love Working Here

At DynamiX, our future is in our team. Team members enjoy:

· Competitive salary and benefits

· Premium health, dental, and vision insurance

· 401(k) plan

· Paid holidays and accrued PTO based on years of service

· A culture that genuinely invests in your professional growth

Are We a Fit?

Being a good fit for DynamiX means bringing talent, flexibility, and a passion for doing things the right way. If you're looking for a place to grow your finance career, take real ownership, and be part of a team that never sits still - we'd love to hear from you.
