Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Linux Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux systems administration experience, virtualization expertise, and scripting skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Tune, monitor, and maintain Linux servers to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor dashboards and proactively identify utilization issues and performance spikes.
  • Troubleshoot server, application, and infrastructure issues.
  • Deploy, configure, reboot, and maintain virtual machines.
  • Monitor and support Kubernetes and Docker container environments.
  • Provide support for Windows server environments as needed.
  • Utilize a strong Linux administration toolset to maintain system health and reliability.
  • Collaborate within a small, cross-functional server administration team where responsibilities are shared across the group.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3.5+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience (Ubuntu experience preferred but not required).
  • Experience building operating systems from the ground up rather than deploying pre-built templates.
  • Experience creating and configuring virtual machines from scratch.
  • Systems administration experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Scripting experience using Python (preferred), Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
