Senior Linux Systems Administrator


On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator for a contract opportunity in Santa Clara, CA.


Senior Linux Systems Administrator Job Details


Will be performing general Linux and network administration tasks. Must have a complete understanding of networking and Ubuntu server administration. This includes installation and configuration of switches, firewalls, LDAP,load balancers, new server installs, configuring Nagios monitors, updating puppet configurations, writing automation scripts, troubleshooting problems, building AWS infrastructure, Vmware server installation, documenting configurations, project management and regular status reports. 


The role requires that someone join a resource constrained group and effectively fill gaps immediately. 


Must be comfortable working independently on a small team, handling a wide variety of tasks with limited guidance. The environment is similar to a start up environment where you will be asked to wear many hats.The goal of this contract is to rebuild and migrate our dev, qa, staging, production and backup data center infrastructure with Dell hardware and VMWare software. 


Senior Linux Systems Administrator Mandatory Skills


Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of Linux. 

Must be able perform Linux Administration duties as a Senior Administrator, with virtually no supervision. 

Must have extensive, strong Linux Sr. Administrator experience. 


Required Experience: 


* Ubuntu or Debian server experience 

* Virtualization experience 

* Firewalls and Load Balancer experience 

* Thorough understanding of network administration 

* Scripting Skills 

* A Minimum of 5 years of experience 

* Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)
