Job Description Summary

Administers and manages complex enterprise technology solutions. Acts as primary support and central point of contact on large or multiple systems with significant impact across the firm. Extensive contact with internal customers, other technology professionals, and vendors is required to identify, research, analyze, and resolve system issues and problems. Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Makes judgements and recommendations based on analysis and knowledge.

Job Description

This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Please note: This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).

  • Troubleshoot complex systems, including network issues within production environments.

  • Deep understanding of the layout of a typical Linux system and understanding of the major system components.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

  • Manage 3rd Party application installs, configurations and migrations.

  • Deploy and operate containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Monitoring experience with DataDog or Dynatrace, and or Splunk experience

  • Maintain secure system configurations, including patching, SSL, access controls, and hardened builds.

  • Work with infrastructure-as-code and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).

Experience with:

  • Concepts, principles and practices of systems administration.

  • Application and web technologies.

  • Monitoring tools to ensure required availability of assigned systems.

  • Active Directory and DNS.

  • Backup and recovery technologies.

  • Virtualization concepts and technologies.

  • Network and security concepts and technologies.

Ability to:

  • Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.

  • Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

  • Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences.

  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position- related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.

  • Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.

  • Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.

  • Work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.
