As an EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certified turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, we leverage our in-house expertise to efficiently manage and execute large-scale projects. Position Overview: We are looking for a junior controller or Accountant Manager who will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions in adherence with US GAAP standards. This role will report to the Vice President, and together, they will work to accelerate the company's growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions in adherence to US GAAP standards, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Manage, lead, and grow accounting team. (AR, AP, Payroll etc.)
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
  • Coordinating activities of external auditors.
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Managing the budget process.
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases.
  • Lead, design, and source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), including deployment and implementation.
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
  • Keep current on clean energy tax policies in company service territories.
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
  • Training and retaining skilled accounting staff.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or chartered professional accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Must have solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Impeccable, technology, analytical, and management skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Experience successfully transitioning a small business to a medium business.
  • Must have SAP experience
  • Experience working in the energy, construction, or telecommunications sectors a plus
