Duties
- Formatting articles for publication through our online publishing platform Bepress Virtual Commons
- Copyediting of accepted articles
- Maintenance of the JIWS' email account: responding to authors and reviewers regarding submissions of manuscripts for publication
- Keeping track of article submissions through our online portal
- Regular interaction with executive editor, Dr. Diana Fox, and associate editor, Dr. Kimberly Davis, and correspondence with international co-editors, reviewers, and authors
- Making edits and updates to our website as needed
Preferred Qualifications

- Excellent writing skills including knowledge of grammar and sentence structure
- Capacity for warm professional engagement with the public-authors, reviewers, other editors
- Highly organized and independent worker
- Facility with Google drive or capacity to learn its use along with our publishing platform in virtual commons (training provided); basic html skills welcome but not required
- Interest in feminist thought and women's issues globally Interest in a career in publishing, editing, writing, or teaching writing
- Someone who can work 20 hours/week, divided among 3 or more days (between hours of 9am-6pm)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software
