Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Jira Administrator based in Netherlands.

This is a high-impact systems role focused on administering and evolving Atlassian Jira Cloud within a globally distributed organization. You will own configuration, automation, integrations, documentation, and analytical capabilities that help engineering and business teams work more effectively. The role sits within a Commercial Systems environment responsible for connecting business applications, improving data flows, and automating operational processes. You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams across multiple regions while managing critical escalations and complex assignments. The position combines Jira administration with Python development, process improvement, data integration, and stakeholder management. It offers significant autonomy in a remote environment where technical quality, accountability, and continuous learning are highly valued.

Accountabilities
  • Manage and administer Atlassian Jira Cloud, ensuring reliable configuration and effective adoption across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Design, document, implement, and continuously improve Jira-based processes and automation that increase operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Jira and the organization's data warehouse, supporting accurate and timely data flows.
  • Build analytical dashboards and reporting capabilities that enable stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Create scalable learning resources and documentation that help teams understand and use Jira effectively.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, support, and other global stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Take ownership of critical escalations, investigate issues thoroughly, and drive timely resolution while maintaining high engineering and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to broader systems and process improvements through automation, software development, and thoughtful process architecture.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience administering Atlassian Jira and working with its broader ecosystem, including configuration, workflows, automation, and administration.
  • Professional experience developing software with Python and the ability to apply engineering practices to systems administration and automation challenges.
  • Strong understanding of common Jira usage patterns across both technical and non-technical departments, with the ability to design solutions around different stakeholder needs.
  • An exceptional academic track record across high school and university, with strong analytical and problem-solving foundations.
  • Professional written and spoken English, combined with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • A curious, flexible, accountable, and highly organized approach, with the ability to take ownership and remain productive in a fully remote environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally approximately twice per year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
  • Experience with process architecture and complex cross-project Jira automation is considered an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Compensation is shaped according to location, experience, and performance, with an annual compensation review.
  • Performance-driven annual bonus or commission in addition to base compensation.
  • Distributed, remote-first working environment with opportunities for twice-yearly in-person team sprints.
  • USD 2,000 annual personal learning and development budget.
  • Recognition and performance rewards.
  • Annual holiday leave.
  • Maternity and paternity leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Opportunities to travel internationally and meet colleagues in new locations.
  • Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long-haul company events.
  • Opportunity to work on challenging systems, automation, data integration, and process improvement initiatives in a globally distributed environment.
