POSITION SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Utility position is to provide help as directed with basic janitorial and light maintenance task as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager. Incumbent may be asked to help in other areas of the plant, including production and need to be extremely flexible as a routine part of their job.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Perform all janitorial tasks as directed.

2.Perform all basic maintenance cleaning (wiping down, blowing out, and lubricating) tasks as directed

3.Maintain casters on all carts/gondolas

4.Maintain new goods warehouse (communicate stock level on key items)

5.Possibly performance of basic preventative maintenance once trained and as directed.

โ€ขAdvise supervisor if any work is not done as scheduled.

โ€ขAdvise supervisor if any work reveals serious issues

โ€ขInspect eye wash stations and other safety items

6.Work collaboratively with all employees, always remembering that the maintenance department services production.

7.Responsible for safe machine operation:

โ€ขDonโ€™t take shortcuts โ€“ always follow proper safety procedures when working on or around machinery.

โ€ขFollow all lock out/tag out procedures when directed.

8.Perform all repair work on demand in a careful and efficient manner.

โ€ขSeek counsel from supervisor when priorities are conflicting

9.May need to serve as back up for production jobs as needed.

10.Notify supervisor when maintenance or cleaning supplies are low so that they can be replenished on time.

11.Seek out work when janitorial work is not readily available, such as cleaning machinery or ensuring that the plant is clean and tidy.

12.Be creative about coming up with ideas for improvements.

13.Attend Safety Meetings as directed.

14.Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

15.Must be flexible as far as starting and completion times
