Job description

People Operations & Training Coordinator – Part Time

New York City | 20–25 Hours/Week | $28–$32/Hour

We are a growing multi-location foodservice business seeking an organized, tech-savvy, and hands-on People Operations & Training Coordinator to support our store teams.

This is not a traditional desk-based HR role. You’ll manage scheduling and onboarding while also spending time in our stores training employees, supporting managers, and helping improve how our teams operate.

Responsibilities
  • Manage weekly employee schedules, availability, shift coverage, and call-outs
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, new-hire paperwork, and payroll setup
  • Organize and conduct new-employee training, including hands-on training in our stores
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, timekeeping, and training completion
  • Review payroll/timekeeping and camera systems to help identify attendance and operational issues
  • Work with store managers on employee coaching, performance, and accountability
  • Maintain employee records, training checklists, and required documentation
  • Help identify staffing gaps, overtime, scheduling inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve labor utilization
  • Use AI and other technology to streamline scheduling, training, communication, and administrative processes
  • Help develop employee recognition and incentive programs that encourage great customer service, sales, reliability, and retention
What We're Looking For
  • Fluent in English and Spanish – required
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn scheduling, payroll, camera, and workforce-management systems
  • Comfortable using AI and other modern technology to improve efficiency
  • Strong communicator who works well with both employees and managers
  • Willing to regularly work inside and travel between our NYC store locations
  • Restaurant, retail, hospitality, HR, training, or multi-unit experience preferred
Schedule & Compensation
  • Part-time: approximately 20–25 hours per week
  • $28–$32 per hour, based on experience
  • Mix of administrative work and in-store employee training/support
  • Some flexibility in scheduling, with availability needed based on training and staffing needs
The Right Person

You enjoy working with people but also love organization, systems, and technology. You’re equally comfortable building next week’s schedule, reviewing timekeeping data, onboarding a new employee, or spending a few hours inside a store helping train the team.

Opportunity for the position to grow as our company and store portfolio expand.
