Job description

IT Systems Administrator
Nidec Minster Corporation is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology (IT) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. You will play a vital role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the IT systems that support core organizational functions. This role involves installing hardware and software, managing user accounts, implementing security measures, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi.
  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain physical and virtual servers (primarily Windows Server, Linux experience a plus).
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain system security measures, including patch management, antivirus, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Oversee data backup and disaster recovery operations and procedures.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues escalated from the help desk.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues proactively, and respond to system alerts and outages.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and IT solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle, including procurement, setup, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and vendors to resolve issues and complete projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Position based out of Minster, Ohio with onsite support to our Dayton, Ohio office facility.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of experience and relevant certifications.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar IT role is required, 3-5+ years preferred.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments (e.g., 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) and Active Directory.
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with system security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA).
  • Familiarity with CMMC concepts (e.g., security controls, SSP, POA&M, evidence collection) is a plus.
  • Experience implementing and supporting environments subject to DoD cybersecurity requirements (NIST SP 800 171, CUI handling, or CMMC 2.0) is a plus.
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, etc. is a plus.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
