Description
Keep Technology Running for Teams Serving the Community
At Volunteers of America Eastern Washington, technology supports critical community services every day. From behavioral health and housing programs to shelters and outreach services, our teams rely on dependable technology to serve people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and behavioral health challenges throughout the Spokane area.
We are hiring an IT Systems Engineer who enjoys solving problems, thinking critically, and working independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
This is not a sit-at-a-desk-all-day IT role.
You'll move between locations, troubleshoot real-time issues, support onboarding and deployments, manage competing priorities, and help staff stay connected and operational across multiple programs and sites.
If you enjoy variety, hands-on troubleshooting, independent work, and finding solutions in fast-moving environments, this role may be a great fit.
What You'll Do
• Provide onsite and remote IT support across multiple organizational locations
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, Microsoft 365, printer, mobile device, and account issues
• Deploy, configure, maintain, and replace laptops, desktops, monitors, phones, and operational technology equipment
• Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation setup, equipment deployment, and technology readiness
• Assist with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management, and account troubleshooting
• Support wireless infrastructure, conference room systems, networking equipment, and operational technology systems
• Maintain inventory and coordinate equipment replacements and warranty support
• Prioritize multiple support requests, onboarding tasks, operational interruptions, and technical projects simultaneously
• Travel between organizational locations for troubleshooting, deployments, and operational support
Requirements
What We're Looking For
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
• Strong customer service and communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff
• Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced operational environments
• Experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft 365
• Experience with endpoint devices, networking systems, and technical support workflows
• Associate's degree in information technology or related field preferred
• Minimum two years of IT support, systems support, infrastructure support, or related technical experience preferred
• Valid driver's license, liability insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between sites as needed
Benefits
• 8 paid holidays plus up to 5 floating holidays
• 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (approx. $12,000-$15,000 annual value)
• Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability (approx. $1,500-$2,500 annual value)
• Generous PTO, including sick leave and vacation
• 403(b) retirement plan
• PSLF-eligible employer
• Ongoing training and professional development
• Free electric vehicle charging at our main location
Why Join VOA?
VOA is a mission-driven organization where your work directly supports employees providing housing, behavioral health, shelter, and outreach services throughout our region.
No two days look exactly the same here. We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, supporting people, and helping operations run smoothly behind the scenes.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. ?
