Albemarle is hiring for aSite IT Manager in Pasadena, TX. The position will be in office 5 days a week.
The Manager is responsible for the full scope of Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) services at the Pasadena manufacturing site. This role combines traditional Site IT Manager responsibilities with hands-on Operational Technology Systems (OTS) leadership, ensuring reliable, secure, and Albemarle policy compliant IT-OT environments that directly support manufacturing, laboratory, and business operations.
The position serves as the primary on-site authority for IT and OT systems, acting as the bridge between site operations, maintenance, engineering, laboratory teams, and corporate IT. The role emphasizes manufacturing OT systems, cybersecurity, IT-OT integration, and on-site technical leadership while maintaining accountability for service delivery, governance, and people/vendor management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Site IT Leadership & Governance
  • Act as the primary IT and OT point of contact for Pasadena site leadership and manufacturing operations
  • Manage and coordinate the full range of IT services, including infrastructure, endpoints, networks, telecommunications, security, and OT platforms
  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance management for site IT/OT team members and contractors
  • Ensure adherence to corporate IT and OT strategies, standards, policies, and change management processes
  • Serve as site IT coordinator accountable for incidents, request fulfillment, and service level agreements (SLAs)

OT Systems Management & Cybersecurity
  • Maintain the cybersecurity posture of OT environments, minimizing cyber exposure risk while ensuring operational reliability
  • Implement and maintain secure OT architectures including segmentation, access controls, and monitoring
  • Execute or support system maintenance, patching, and vulnerability remediation for OT systems including PCS, PIMS, LIMS, lab, and analytics platforms
  • Maintain compliance with corporate OS patching, endpoint protection, and antivirus policies across OT environments

IT-OT Infrastructure & Network Administration
  • Oversee and support IT-OT network environments including LAN, WAN, industrial networks, and OT DMZs
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, dataflow documentation, and IP addressing for IT and OT systems
  • Support virtual environments including host hardware, hypervisors, and virtual machines used in OT and manufacturing systems
  • Ensure integration of new IT and OT systems align with corporate architecture and security standards

Operational Support & On-Site Execution
  • Provide Tier I/II on-site technical support for IT -OT systems and physical infrastructure requiring local presence
  • Act as escalation owner for site IT or OT incidents, coordinating with corporate service owners and vendors to restore services
  • Support global IT teams by executing on-premise activities that cannot be performed remotely
  • Asset, Vendor, and Documentation Management
  • Maintain accurate inventories of IT and OT hardware, software, licenses, and industrial assets (HAM/SAM)
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and on-site service delivery
  • Develop, maintain, and audit site-specific documentation, procedures, and "as-installed" system records

Project & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in and lead IT-OT related capital and operational projects supporting manufacturing growth and modernization
  • Coordinate with Capital Projects, Maintenance, Engineering, R&T, and Lab teams to support evolving system needs
  • Track operational metrics and drive continuous improvement in service quality and system reliability

What you bring
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in IT operations, including manufacturing or industrial environments
  • 5+ years of experience supporting OT systems, system administration, and IT-OT integration
  • Experience managing IT service delivery, vendors, and technical staff
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and project management methodologies
  • Working knowledge of system security practices and cybersecurity frameworks

Technical Expertise
  • OT cybersecurity architectures and secure industrial networking
  • PCS, PIMS, LIMS, laboratory, and analytics systems
  • Windows operating systems, endpoint management, and virtualization platforms
  • Network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and segmented environments

It'd be great if you also have
  • Certifications or training in OT or network security (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, Network+, CCENT or similar) ITIL Foundations certified or greater
  • Experience with hypervisors such as VMware, Hyper-V, or AHV
  • Experience supporting audits and cybersecurity assessments in industrial environments
