The Digital Science and Automation Solution (DSAS) business designs, develops, supplies, and supports industry leading laboratory workflow solutions and robotic automation, predominantly for the Pharma, Biopharma and the Genetic testing space. Position Specific Information: 

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an accomplished Program Manager to lead multiple complex, cross-functional DSAS programs from concept through commercialization and closure. This role is accountable for end-to-end program execution, including scope, schedule, budget, and delivery of business outcomes. 

The Program Manager drives cross-functional alignment, proactively identifies and mitigates risks, resolves resource conflicts, and escalates issues with clear recommendations and trade-offs to ensure successful program delivery. 

This role operates across multiple concurrent programs with significant cross-functional and organizational complexity. The Program Manager will work in close collaboration with other Program Managers and dedicated Product Managers assigned to each program. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Delivery performance 

  • Lead end-to-end execution of multiple complex programs, ensuring delivery against committed scope, schedule, and budget  

  • Establish and maintain program governance, including planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, and risk mitigation  

  • Facilitate prioritization and trade-off decisions to ensure optimal business outcomes. 

  • Champion a customer-first approach across all programs, ensuring customer needs and use cases are reflected in program priorities and trade-off decisions 

  • Proactively identify and manage risks and issues to ensure timely resolution and maintain program momentum 

  • Contribute to Practical Process Improvement initiatives to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, or customer experience 

Commercial readiness  

  • Drive cross-functional readiness for product launches, including alignment with Product Management, Engineering/Quality, Commercial and Finance teams  

  • Ensure all program deliverables support successful commercialization and launch outcomes, including regulatory, operational, and customer readiness 

  • Track and manage launch readiness milestones and ensure alignment with go-to-market timelines 

Stakeholder alignment  

  • Lead program communications and phase-gate reviews, providing clear, concise, and decision-oriented updates to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. 

  • Align cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Operations) on priorities, timelines, and deliverables  

  • Drive alignment and execution across multiple business units, functions, and geographies 

  • Facilitate decision-making by presenting risks, options, and trade-offs to leadership 

  • If applicable establish and maintain strong working relationships with third-party partners, holding them accountable to contractual commitments and ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, performance, budget ... 

Financial/resource control 

  • Manage program budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation across initiatives 

  • Monitor financial performance and ensure alignment with approved business cases  

  • Identify resource constraints and drive resolution through prioritization and escalation

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline 

  • PMP certification preferred 

  • 8–10+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional technical programs, including stage-gate commercialization and SDLC delivery in Agile/SAFe environments 

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles (resource allocation, cost estimation, risk analysis) 

  • Experience managing programs in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, FDA) is a plus  

  • Fluent in English
