Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Information Technology (IT) Manager to oversee, integrate, and optimize our company’s entire technology stack. With a workforce of 300 employees spanning corporate and field operations, our technology needs to be seamless, secure, and highly connected.

In this role, you will be the bridge between our internal business needs and our technology infrastructure. A critical component of this role is maximizing data flow between our core platforms via integrations and APIs. You will lead vendor negotiations, manage partnerships with external support teams located both in the US and internationally, and ensure our financial, CRM, and operational systems work in harmony.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
•    Manage IT Support Specialists
•    Interview, recruit, hire and train new staff in the department.
•    Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
•    Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • System Integration & API Management: Oversee and maintain integrations between core business applications. Ensure smooth data flow across our ecosystem, troubleshoot API connectivity issues, and work with developers/partners to build new connections as needed.
  • Core Platform Oversight: Manage and optimize our primary software stack, ensuring maximum uptime and adoption for tools like Google Workspace, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and other enterprise CRM/operational platforms.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all technology vendors. Negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and evaluate third-party software/hardware to ensure cost-efficiency and high performance.
  • Global Support Coordination: Act as the primary liaison and manager for our outsourced service desks and external technical support teams based in the US and abroad. Ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met.
  • Infrastructure & Operations: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and security of all corporate hardware (servers, laptops, mobile devices) and software applications.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure data integrity, robust backup protocols, and strict access controls across integrated cloud platforms to protect sensitive company and project data.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Integration & API Skills: Solid understanding of system integration principles, REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or data-mapping tools used to connect disparate software systems is a plus.
  • Software Expertise: Direct experience managing or administering Sage Intacct and Salesforce (or similar enterprise CRM and accounting systems) would be helpful.
  • Vendor & Global Team Management: Proven track record of successfully negotiating software licenses/SaaS agreements and managing cross-border, outsourced technical talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process-improvement mindset.
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2–3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in the construction or engineering industry is a major plus. Familiarity with connecting field-to-office technology challenges is highly valued.
  • Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management and prioritization.
  • Knowledge of project management software tools and applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and travel as needed.
  • Light to moderate lifting up to 15 pounds, with occasional pushing or pulling.
