PeopleTec is currently seeking an IT Field System Engineer to support our El Paso, TX location.

We specialize in full stack development, cloud DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives, both in the federal and commercial space. We are currently seeking a mid/senior-level Field Systems Engineer to support our El Paso / Ft. Bliss location.
Our team is seeking an exceptionally motivated self-starting IT Field Systems Engineer with experience in SATCOM and Ground Radios, Facility Security Systems, network support and facility cabling installation to join our team. As a Field Systems Engineer, you will monitor and respond to service requests to also include the maintenance of public announcement systems, wall mounting of displays, and other various installation support requests. The IT FSE supports an operational client in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
Duties:
  • Conducting thorough testing of SATCOM and ground radios equipment (bench & field testing) and other operational equipment in the field.
  • Maintain security systems, including physical access control systems, closed-circuit video cameras, badge readers, electronic locks, and other related components.
  • Responsible for the installation of facility cabling that includes LAN, fiber, coax, and telephone cabling.
  • Responsible for advanced network architecture installations and maintenance and testing of commercial network devices (WiFi, Pucks, smartphones, VoIP, computers, etc.), CAT5e/CAT6 installation, fabrication (crimping) of cabling and validation of Cable Installation (Layer 1 - Physical Layer)
  • Be familiar with and maintain the public announcement system and address all technical issues.
  • Responsible for the installation and mounting of television sets onto various surfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users.
  • Interact with clients and end-users to understand their IT-relate

Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Mid Level IT experience (3-5 years)
  • Proven experience conducting thorough testing of SATCOM and ground radios equipment maintaining facility security systems, facility cabling installations, and advanced network architecture installations.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electronic tools (multimeter, network/IT testing devices, cable testers, drills, power tools).
  • Familiarity with Service Desk Support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Capable of making sound decisions and problem-solving independently.
  • Excellent communication skills to work independently and collaborate with team members and customers.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:
  • Associates/Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related field

  • Certifications in relevant technologies or products
  • Experience working in a military and/or operational environment (e.g., former military, law enforcement)
