NorthStar Energy Services is hiring an IT Field Technician to support hardware, network, and end-user technology needs across our field operations. 


  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals at job sites and offices
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment (switches, routers, access points, structured cabling) at field/job sites
  • Rack, stack, and cable network and server equipment in the field as needed
  • Respond to and resolve IT support tickets remotely and on-site in a timely manner
  • Image, configure, and deploy new equipment; maintain accurate asset inventory and tracking
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of field employees (account setup, hardware provisioning, access/badge coordination)
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, hardwired) at remote sites
  • Coordinate with vendors (Dell, Insight, ISPs, etc.) on equipment orders, repairs, and warranty service
  • Perform routine site IT audits — inventory checks, cable management, equipment condition
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records in the ticketing system
  • Travel to remote job sites as needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or IT certification (A+, Network+) preferred
  • 1–3 years of hands-on IT support or field technician experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, kneeling, working in confined or outdoor spaces)
  • Comfortable working in varying field/industrial site conditions, including heat and remote locations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel by vehicle or air as needed
  • Willingness to travel and stay on-site for extended periods (2–3 weeks at a time for Houston/Channelview-based candidates working West Texas assignments)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
