Job Title: IT Asset Lifecycle Manager

Position Summary:

The IT Asset Lifecycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets across the organization, including hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role ensures that assets are procured, deployed, maintained, and retired in alignment with business needs, compliance requirements, and cost optimization goals. The manager will develop and enforce asset management policies, maintain accurate inventory records, and collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and strategic planning. This position plays a critical role in minimizing risk, maximizing asset value, and ensuring transparency throughout the asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Planning & Procurement

  • Oversee the inventory, tracking, and management of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, leased equipment, subscriptions, and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to forecast asset needs.
  • Ensure assets meet business and technical requirements.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery, maintenance, and support of IT assets.
  • Cultivate business partnerships with vendors and service providers in alliance with the Vendor Management Office
  • Budgeting and Cost Optimization: Work with finance, accounting, and procurement teams to forecast IT asset needs, control costs, and maximize return on investment.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance IT asset management processes to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and support business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for IT asset-related inquiries. Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to align technology strategies with organizational needs.

Asset Inventory & Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets.
  • Use asset management tools to track location, usage, and ownership.
  • Oversee asset logistics, management, warehouse inventory, and order fulfillment needs around all IT Equipment for the entire organization.
  • Oversee all hardware staging and testing before it is shipped out from the IT warehouse.

Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and implement strategies for asset management in accordance with organizational policies and industry best practices.
  • Manage onboarding, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure timely refresh cycles and warranty tracking.
  • End-of-Life Management: Coordinate the safe and compliant decommissioning, disposal, or recycling of obsolete IT assets.
  • Assist and direct Asset Management IT Technicians, Supervisors and Leads, with task prioritization to provide a seamless customer experience. 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Compliance and Security: Ensure all IT assets and processes adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, security policies, and data protection standards.
  • Ensure software licensing compliance.
  • Mitigate risks related to data security and asset disposal.

Reporting & Optimization

  • Provide insights into asset utilization and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Generate reports for audits and executive reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, life cycle status, and performance metrics. Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of IT asset life cycle management principles, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Experience with asset management systems, procurement processes, and vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and IT security standards is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Certified IT Asset Manager) are desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically office-based with some remote work flexibility.
  • May require occasional travel to company sites or vendor locations.
  • Reports to the IT Service Management Director

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25lbs to a minimum height of five feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty feet, with or without mechanical assistance. 
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks. 
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater) 
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions 
  • Must be able to communicate professionally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc.

Work Schedule:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours, depending on department needs, working out of North Tallahassee, Florida 
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • 20-30% travel expected. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position.
