Job description

This position is for both Dodson and Kelley Students.

Ensure efficient operation of the ISS classroom for both Dodson and Kelley. Provide a safe environment for students placed in ISS while helping them with behavior challenges. Provide behavior and academic support to students in the ISS school setting using de-escalation techniques for behavior issues that may arise during the day. 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

Have met formal academic assessment, associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*

     Valid Texas educational aide certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both orally and in writing in English and Spanish

Ability to work with EB students well

Ability to follow directions and carry out assigned tasks, independently and in an organized manner

Basic computer skills such as keyboard/word processing, preferred

Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics

Experience:

One year of experience in a school setting, preferred

Experience working with EL students, preferred
