## Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced **Technical Business Analyst** with strong expertise in **credit card processing, digital payments, payment gateways, transaction settlement, APIs, and PCI-DSS compliance**.

The Technical Business Analyst will work with business stakeholders, product teams, developers, QA teams, compliance, risk, operations, and external payment vendors to define requirements and support the implementation of secure payment-processing solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of the complete card-payment lifecycle, including authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, refunds, reversals, tokenization, chargebacks, disputes, fraud management, and merchant reconciliation.

## Key Responsibilities

* Gather, analyze, document, and manage business, functional, and technical requirements for credit card and digital payment systems.

* Translate business needs into BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and functional specifications.

* Analyze end-to-end payment-processing workflows, including authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, refunds, reversals, tokenization, chargebacks, disputes, and fraud controls.

* Work with card networks, issuing banks, acquiring banks, payment gateways, processors, merchants, and third-party payment vendors.

* Review REST API documentation, JSON and XML schemas, request and response payloads, message formats, and error codes.

* Assist with documenting API requirements and integration specifications for payment gateways and processors.

* Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, compliance, risk, finance, and operations teams.

* Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

* Support System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, regression testing, test-case reviews, defect tracking, and requirement traceability.

* Analyze payment transaction data, settlement reports, merchant activity, and reconciliation results.

* Ensure payment solutions comply with PCI-DSS, EMV, security, regulatory, and card-industry standards.

* Support go-live preparation, production validation, hypercare, incident investigation, and post-implementation monitoring.

* Facilitate stakeholder workshops and communicate project risks, dependencies, decisions, and status updates.

## Required Qualifications

* At least four years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.

* Strong experience with credit card processing, digital payments, merchant services, payment gateways, or financial transaction systems.

* Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including card networks, issuers, acquirers, gateways, processors, and merchants.

* Strong knowledge of payment authorization, capture, clearing, settlement, refunds, reversals, and reconciliation.

* Experience with PCI-DSS compliance, tokenization, encryption, and cardholder-data security.

* Understanding of REST APIs and the ability to interpret API documentation and message schemas.

* Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process maps, data flow diagrams, and data-mapping documents.

* Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

* Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for requirements, user stories, testing, and defect management.

* Strong communication, documentation, analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.

* Ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical teams.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with EMV 3-D Secure, 3DS authentication, EMV chip transactions, and contactless payments.

* Experience with digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

* Knowledge of chargebacks, representment, retrieval requests, disputes, and fraud management.

* Experience with payment platforms such as Fiserv, FIS, ACI Worldwide, Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, or Cybersource.

* Experience with fraud-detection platforms, transaction-monitoring tools, or rules engines.

* Experience reconciling merchant activity, processor settlement files, and internal transaction records.

* Familiarity with ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 payment messaging standards.

* CBAP, PMI-PBA, AAP, or another relevant business-analysis or payments certification.
