Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead multiple architectural projects from programming and design through construction administration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service throughout each project.
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure projects meet quality, constructability, and code compliance standards.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural construction documents and specifications.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, life safety regulations, and jurisdictional standards.
  • Lead project meetings, presentations, and design reviews with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor architects, designers, and technical staff while fostering collaboration across project teams.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to maintain technical accuracy and design excellence.
  • Support permitting efforts and respond to agency review comments.
  • Participate in construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, site observations, punch lists, and field issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on project planning, resource management, and client development opportunities.
  • Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Architectural licensure (RA) preferred but not required. Candidates with strong project management experience who are pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • 7+ years of architectural experience with progressively increasing project management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing small- to medium-sized architectural projects from design through construction.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, constructability, detailing, and technical coordination.
  • Thorough knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), accessibility standards, life safety requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to effectively serve clients throughout the North Carolina Triad region. Candidates located in or willing to relocate to the NC Piedmont Triad area are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • NCARB certification.
  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, civic, educational, healthcare, workplace, hospitality, mixed-use, or similar project types.
  • Experience with renovations, additions, and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management including project fees, consultant coordination, labor utilization, and profitability.
  • Construction administration experience on complex architectural projects.
  • Ability to develop responsive design solutions through collaborative planning and client engagement.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to client meetings and project sites, primarily throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.
  • Experience facilitating collaborative client workshops and design charrettes.
