Logistics Manager

Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier 1 supplier of Acoustic and Thermal Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated individual to fill the position of Logistics Manager at the Manufacturing Facility in Oregon, Ohio.

  • The Logistics Manager manages the logistics and materials team to accomplish production goals and objectives. They should have knowledge of all manufacturing functions, from raw materials to finished goods, ability to work with customers and suppliers, and create and update the production schedule to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager:

This section is not inclusive.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary

  • Manage the supply chain department to ensure all tasks and responsibilities are delivered on time
  • Ensure all business KPIs are produced in line with reporting standards and represent accurate information and presented in the time scale specified by the business to the Business Unit Logistics Manager
  • Support all company and statutory health and safety rules and regulations
  • Ensure the on time in full (OTIF) delivery of material to support the master production schedule (MPS) and the delivery of finished goods (FG) into the FG warehouse to support the Customer shipping plan.
  • Support the budget planning process and control expenditure to meet the budget
  • Ensure the stringent use of the company ERP system
  • Waste disposal management
  • Control / Approval of Customer Claims
  • Management of run in / run out process to change over with minimum operation and financial disruption
  • Lead a regular sales review with Operations and Finance to ensure the business is aware of changes to customer demand thus changes to forecast / budget
  • Implement Adler Pelzer Production System (APPS)
  • Ensure the effective organization of warehouse inventories and work in process (WIP)
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are adhered to
  • Escalate all operational risks to the Plant manager and BU Logistics Manager
  • Escalate all financial risks to the Plant Manager, Financial Controller and where appropriate to the BU Logistics Manager
  • Manage and own the Inventory accuracy including all counting activities including perpetual, cycle and Annual Physical Inventory (API)
  • Identify training requirements of the team and ensure that each member of the team is suitably trained to be able to complete the tasks to the standard required
  • Support regular communication forum within the team to allow for feedback and status updates
  • Ensure each employee receives documented appraisals in line with HR policy
  • Ensure that all required data point in the ERP system are updated by Purchasing, Engineering and Logistics in a timely manner to ensure the smooth start-up of new programs or material changes (I.e. BOMS, Purchase Orders and Schedule order agreements)
  • Deliver the required reports and KPIs to the Business Unit Logistics Manager and Plant as requested

 Skills Preferred for the Logistics Manager:

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role

  • Good understanding of Material, Transportation and Warehouse processes and systems

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Internet Explorer, ERP system (e.g. . . SAP)

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Demonstrable success in managing SOP & EOP lifecycles  

  • Demonstrable clear understanding of inventory management and budget control

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of a college degree in a related field or a combination of work experience and education.
