It is a professional credential offered by APICS (part of the Association for Supply Chain Management) that demonstrates expertise in logistics, transportation, and distribution management. Earning the CLTD certification shows that a professional has the knowledge and skills needed to streamline logistics processes, manage supply chains, and improve distribution operations. This certification is recognized globally and can enhance career opportunities in supply chain and logistics fields.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) professional, and why are they important?

To excel as a CLTD-certified professional, you need in-depth knowledge of logistics, transportation, supply chain management, and inventory control, typically validated by passing the APICS CLTD exam. Familiarity with ERP systems, warehouse management software, and transportation management systems is important, along with maintaining the CLTD credential through continuing education. Strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and effective communication help you optimize operations and coordinate across departments. These competencies are vital to driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring smooth end-to-end supply chain processes.
