LOGISTICS MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory management, transportation, and distribution activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain performance. This role manages warehouse staff, coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. Leads Continual Improvement efforts and team meetings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations
• Manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping.
• Develop and implement warehouse procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage utilization.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
Inventory Management
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and stock shortages.
Logistics & Transportation
• Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation activities.
• Manage relationships with carriers, freight providers, and logistics partners.
• Monitor shipping schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for savings.
Team Leadership
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse personnel.
• Establish performance goals and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Schedule staff to meet operational requirements.
• Lead weekly Continual Improvement meetings to foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety regulations.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure proper operating procedures are followed.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
Reporting & Process Improvement
• Prepare and analyze operational reports, KPIs, and inventory metrics utilizing the CI Workbook.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Support supply chain initiatives to improve efficiency and customer service.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, quality, and customer service teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
• 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
Skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of inventory control and logistics best practices.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
