Job Description: Materials & Logistics Manager

Department: Supply Chain Management

Reports To: Senior Supply Chain Manager

Employment Type: Fulltime, Exempt

Work Location: Carson, CA


Position Summary

The Materials & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading materials planning, logistics, warehouse operations, and inventory management across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role ensures material availability, coordinates end-to-end material flow from Korea HQ and local suppliers, manages warehouse operations through site Material Receivers / Inventory Specialists, and supports ERP implementation and process standardization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead material planning and material availability activities to support production schedules.
  • Monitor material shortages, critical parts, inventory status, open purchase orders, and in-transit materials.
  • Coordinate shortage recovery with Procurement, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Korea HQ, and logistics providers.
  • Manage international and domestic logistics including shipment tracking, customs coordination, and transportation.
  • Monitor logistics performance (ETD, ETA, delivery status) and resolve logistics issues.
  • Review and analyze logistics costs including freight, storage, demurrage, and premium freight, and recommend cost improvements.
  • Manage warehouse operations across multiple sites through Material Receiver / Inventory Specialists.
  • Ensure standardized receiving, storage, inventory control, material issue, and inter-plant transfer processes are followed.
  • Review inventory accuracy, cycle count results, and inventory discrepancies; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure warehouse personnel execute accurate ERP inventory transactions.
  • Support ERP implementation as the business process owner for logistics, warehouse, inventory, and material flow processes.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse and logistics SOPs and operational KPIs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for site warehouse and inventory personnel.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Materials Management, Logistics, Warehouse, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with international logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, and material planning.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual Korean and English preferred.
