Job description

Inventory Control Manager - Distribution Center
Reports to:
The Inventory Control Manager will report to the Inventory Control Director.
Job Overview:
The Inventory Control Manager-Distribution Center will manage Inventory Control Personnel, Policies, and Procedures with an emphasis upon controls relating to the Distribution Center. Ensure processes are mapped, controls are implemented, physical counts performed, and customer service is provided to all internal customers. The Inventory Control Manager-Distribution Center is responsible for guaranteeing perpetual inventory system and the accounting records are accurate. Position will require onsite work at the Distribution Center location with attention given to active shift hours including (not limited to) first, third, and weekend oversight.
Duties include:
  • Manage Inventory Control Department related to Distribution Center
    • Oversee Inventory Control Warehouse Analyst(s)
      • Schedule, monitor, evaluate workload, lead, and train
  • Report monitoring
    • Negative inventory, miss-picks, zero on hand, in transit, not-in-stock reports, Felix vs. Imagine and take corrective action
    • Monitor outbound freight tracking working with Transportation Manager to resolve issues and improve training and procedures
  • Physical Counts
    • Work with external auditors, and Distribution Center Director/Management to schedule physical inventories
      • Oversee physical inventory counts
    • Ensure compliance with company policy and mandates to accurately complete counts
      • Ensure Projects are entered into Reflexis
      • Reconcile Distribution Center and New Store Physical Counts
        • Provide reports to Management in conjunction with the Inventory Control Manger - Store
        • Issue inventory variance analysis within 3 days of physical inventory, clearly communicating variance
        • Record Inventory Results on Master List for Accounting entries
    • Implement cycle count procedure
  • New Store Distribution Center Inventory
    • Monitor inventory for new stores
      • Investigate discrepancies and resolve
      • Develop procedures to account for all inventory prior to new store opening
  • Consolidated inventory monitoring and process improvement
  • Returned Product
    • Oversee processing of Damages, Miss-Mates, and similar
      • Monitor In transit report for merchandise returned to Distribution Center
      • Maintain timely and orderly processing
      • Report and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure Cost Corrections are complete
    • Update on Smartsheet
  • End of Month
    • Clear adjustment accounts
  • Work with Director of Inventory Control to ensure continuous improvement involving all aspects of internal inventory movement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related technical field preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma training preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years proven working experience in Inventory Control management (including planning, tracking, auditing and process improvement)
  • Proficient in Excel, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in managing projects and meeting timelines
  • Develop and Provide training to others, as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to adapt communications to different levels of understanding related to your topic
  • Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and motivate project team members to achieve team goals.
