Your Opportunity: 

The Herff Jones Cap and Gown team, based in Indianapolis, IN, is looking for a Inventory Control Supervisor to join our team. This position reports to the Sr. Operations Manager. This position would oversee the strategic and execution of the inventory functions in our Indianapolis, IN. plant.

  

What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:

•     Oversees team of inventory or warehouse employees

•     Manage inventory tracking systems to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels. Evaluates deliveries, shipments, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures. Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages

•     Manages schedules of employees, deliveries, and shipments to optimize operations. Communicates with inventory employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues. Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients

•     Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics. Monitors demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs

•     Reports on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management

•     Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

What You’ll Bring to the Table: 

  • Experience in scheduling and planning without ERP and MRP systems
  • Experience with ERP systems is highly preferred, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365, as well as Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with S&OP, MRP, and MPS processes highly preferred Experience in highly seasonal planning and manufacturing is preferred
  • American Production Inventory Control System (APICS) and or Six Sigma certification is preferred Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Well-organized, be able to multi-task and have a high level of attention to detail
  • Customer service driven able to understand and support the business goals and objectives
  • Interface and interact well with all departments of the company and is an ambassador for planning in a seasonal environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Daily activity includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
  • Reading, communication, math.
  • Working at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above
