We're looking for an experienced Inventory Clerk to join our Indianapolis, Indiana team. This is a 100% ON-SITE position. If you enjoy solving problems, analyzing inventory trends, working cross-functionally, and making a direct impact on operational success, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As an Inventory Clerk, you'll play a key role in ensuring our branch maintains the right inventory at the right time. Working closely with purchasing, sales, transportation, and operations, you'll help optimize inventory levels while supporting excellent customer service.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze customer forecasts and inventory trends to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Review purchase orders placed by Corporate Purchasing and coordinate transfer shipments between branch locations.
  • Monitor and manage aging inventory to maximize inventory performance.
  • Review open purchase orders and determine opportunities to cancel, delay, or expedite orders based on business needs.
  • Evaluate and process mill overages, including determining acceptance and disposition.
  • Maintain inventory reserves and update stock screen memos.
  • Partner with transportation and logistics teams to ensure timely material movement.
  • Provide backup support to the Sales team when needed.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
