What are some common challenges faced by professionals in inventory audit roles, and how can they be addressed?

Inventory Audit professionals often encounter challenges such as discrepancies between physical stock and recorded inventory, managing large volumes of items, and coordinating with multiple departments for accurate data. These challenges can be addressed by maintaining up-to-date records, implementing regular cycle counts, and fostering clear communication with warehouse and procurement teams. Leveraging inventory management software and adhering to standardized audit procedures also help ensure accuracy and efficiency in the auditing process.

What is an inventory audit?

An inventory audit is a process where a company’s inventory records are checked for accuracy by physically counting the items in stock and comparing them with recorded inventory levels. This helps to identify discrepancies, prevent theft or loss, and ensure that financial statements are accurate. Inventory audits are important for maintaining proper inventory control, optimizing stock levels, and complying with financial regulations. Audits can be conducted internally by company staff or externally by third-party auditors.

Candidates must be highly organized, possess strong NetSuite expertise, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy and operational excellence are essential.

• Process shipping fulfillments and sales order transactions

• Receive inventory into NetSuite and match against purchase orders

• Verify pricing, quantities, and shipment documentation

• Support inventory audits and inventory validation efforts

• Track waste and inventory movement trends

• Create and maintain Excel-based operational reports

• Coordinate with production, warehouse, logistics, and supply chain teams
