ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Supervisory-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • N/A

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Positions patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
  • Assists radiologist with routine and interventional CT procedures.
  • Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images in sequence of exposure, and labels appropriately.
  • Films/transmits to Image Archival System.
  • Dispenses and/or orders oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration and safe IV contrast administration.
  • Demonstrates proficiency and advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including, but not limited to X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.
  • Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
  • Ability to operate equipment consistently with the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
  • May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
  • Obtains additional training or certification as required.
  • Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
  • Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
  • Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
