Prisms VR is a San Francisco-based team of educators, game developers, and engineers transforming K12 STEM education through experiential real-world problemโ€‘solving powered by the next generation of spatial computing. We utilize adaptive Virtual Reality (VR) to engage, inspire, and open pathways to creative problemโ€‘solving to rapidly improve engagement and proficiencies in Math and Science across our country and beyond. THE JOB

Unity Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Prisms seeks a developer with professional experience to build immersive learning experiences for mobile VR platforms using the Unity framework. Your main task will be to create scalable and reliable interactive experiences for immersive learning of STEM content. You will also support with the development of our C# platform systems. We require a strong commitment to collaborative problemโ€‘solving, sophisticated design, and delivering a highโ€‘quality product.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, build and maintain a modular, reusable, and resilient code base that will be used to make highโ€‘quality, lowโ€‘footprint and performant immersive experiences.
  • Collaborate with designers to implement prototypes of novel interactive learning tools and elevate production quality through rigorous user testing.
  • Perform regular iteration and maintenance of applications, tools, and functionality to ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Establish strategy and development pipelines to integrate with release platforms.
  • Create and improve tools used to optimize the development pipeline.
  • Continuously work to identify and optimize processes, application bottlenecks, and bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Commitment to transforming and reimagining STEM education.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Masterโ€™s degree a plus.
  • Proficiency in developing objectโ€‘oriented software, with deep experience in C# scripting.
  • Deep understanding of VR or equivalent development workflows using Unity.
  • Experience with profiling and optimizing C# code base.
  • A knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code.
  • Experience with source control (Git preferred).
  • Receptive to an iterative design process with a willingness to participate in many areas of game development.
  • Highly motivated and skilled at both working individually and collaborating with a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
