  • Review and process authorization requests according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of approvals and denials.
  • Communicate professionally with members, providers, patients, and pharmacies.
  • Identify questions or situations requiring clinical judgment and appropriately transfer them to a pharmacist.
  • Accurately navigate pharmacy, claims, authorization, and other healthcare systems.
  • Protect confidential member and patient information while following applicable policies and procedures.

  • Prior authorization experience.
  • Eligibility for state pharmacy technician registration, certification, or licensure as required by applicable regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to accurately document information while managing multiple systems and conversations.

  • Pharmacy, claims, and prior authorization systems used.
  • Computer skills assessment results.
  • Customer service experience supporting members, providers, patients, or pharmacies.
  • Remote work setup, including private workspace and hardwired internet.
