This role will support various areas across the project team to support client and team objectives. This shall involve, but is not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with collecting and analyzing financial data in order to perform some or all the following accounting processes: reconciliation and variance reporting for assigned areas, reconcile assigned accounts, and analyze financial data.
  • Identify and resolve data issues. Analyze financial data to identify adverse trends and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.
  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to clients within supported business area. Assistance includes, but is not limited to explanation of account codes or financial reports, providing project status reports, and guidance about accounting policies.
  • Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules, and other information on operating results for management and outside parties.
  • Actively participate in or support special projects as assigned. Projects may include, but are not limited to testing system upgrades or enhancements, rate case support, and developing ad hoc reports and process improvement initiatives.
    Contribute to documentation initiatives and group knowledge/ best practices

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of financial and accounting experience gained through employment or accounting internship(s)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in data analytics, data visualization, and web development
  • Proficiency in data interpretation and manipulation of large datasets
  • Strong aptitude for correlating data and finding critical data trends
  • Intermediate SQL programming skills – tables, complex stored procedures, functions, and views
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills; ability to translate end user needs into an IT solution
  • Excellent organizational skills since attention to detail is critical for successful outcomes

Preferred:

  • Ability and desire to obtain CPA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM
  • Ability to learn and apply GAAP

Education:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
