Position Summary

The Regulatory Affairs Associate supports the organization's product stewardship and regulatory compliance programs by ensuring products meet applicable environmental, health, safety, transportation, and chemical regulatory requirements. This role works closely with Regulatory Affairs, EHS & Quality, R&D, Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to assess product compliance, maintain regulatory documentation, and support product lifecycle management activities. This role will be located in Lakeland, FL.

Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance
  • Monitor global, federal, state, and local regulations impacting products and raw materials.
  • Support compliance evaluations for regulations such as TSCA, CEPA, GHS, Prop 65, PFAS restrictions, VOC regulations, and other applicable chemical management requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory databases and compliance records.
  • Assist in preparing regulatory submissions, notifications, and registrations as required.

Product Stewardship

  • Conduct product compliance reviews throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Evaluate raw material and finished product compositions for regulatory compliance.
  • Support hazard assessments and risk evaluations for new and existing products.
  • Ensure products are classified, labeled, and documented in accordance with applicable regulations.

Documentation & Data Management

  • Create, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), product labels, and technical documentation.
  • Manage supplier compliance documentation, including SDSs, certificates, and regulatory declarations.
  • Maintain accurate compliance data within company systems and databases.
  • Support customer requests related to product regulatory and stewardship information.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Research & Development teams during product development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement to evaluate supplier regulatory information.
  • Support Marketing and Sales by providing regulatory guidance on product claims and market access requirements.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Quality teams with product compliance-related investigations and corrective actions.

Compliance Support

  • Participate in internal and external compliance audits.
  • Assist with responses to customer compliance questionnaires and regulatory inquiries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Product Stewardship function.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or a related scientific discipline required.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Product Compliance, Quality, or a related field preferred.
  • Internship or co-op experience in regulatory compliance or chemical management may be considered.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic understanding of global chemical regulations and product compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with GHS hazard communication and Safety Data Sheet authoring.
  • Knowledge of chemical inventory management and product composition review processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and regulatory data management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SDS authoring software.
  • Knowledge of automotive aftermarket, consumer products, chemical manufacturing, or industrial product regulations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, or regulatory compliance databases.
  • Professional certifications related to product stewardship or regulatory affairs are a plus.
