Job Overview


The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) plays a critical role in providing individualized training and support to enable individuals to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. This role is integral to ensuring that our clients receive the highest quality care in line with our mission.


Scope of Work

  • Develop and implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) tailored to client needs.
  • Provide family relationship and parenting skills training.
  • Deliver case management services and daily living skills training as outlined in ISPs.
  • Submit timely, accurate assessments, reports, and service plans using agency-approved formats.
  • Collaborate with agencies and maintain regular contact with referring organizations.
  • Monitor and document medication regimens and ensure appointment compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of services and manage a small client caseload.
  • Complete client intake, admission documents, and registration for Crisis and CSRA for MHSS.
  • Report incidents and clinical matters to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Act as a mandated reporter and provide weekly schedules to the administrative team.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards and assist with service delivery improvements.
  • Review and approve documentation, including ISPs and progress notes.
  • Support staff with professional development and career advancement.
  • Attend meetings, address quality assurance issues, and ensure care coordination.
  • Conduct crisis interventions and provide individual/group supervision for QMHP staff.
  • Offer information, referral services, and assistance with service delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position (not an employee role).
  • Willing to work in a hybrid setup.
  • QMHP Requirements:
    • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP):
      • Master's degree in a relevant field with a 500-hour internship/practicum in mental health, or
      • Bachelor's degree in a human services field with 1,500 hours of supervised experience (within the last 5 years), or
      • Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with 15 human services credits and 3,000 hours of supervised experience (within the last 5 years), or
      • Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist with 1,500 hours of supervised experience (within the last 5 years).
    • Qualified Mental Health Professional-Trainee (QMHP-T): Enrolled in a human services-related degree program that meets Board of Counseling criteria.
    • Qualified Paraprofessional in Mental Health (QPPMH): High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience as defined by the Board.
  • Knowledge of community-based mental health services.
  • Proficient in documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with mental health conditions and interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Understanding of community resources and entitlement programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with service providers and referral sources.
  • Skilled in using supervision to enhance service delivery.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and behavioral management techniques.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • 15 hours of annual mental health training.
