About the Position
Golf Pride® Grips, #1 golf grip brand worldwide, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our fast-paced team, specializing in the design and development of golf grips. The successful candidate will assist in creating innovative and ergonomic golf grip designs that enhance performance and comfort. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a role in an exciting industry in a supportive and innovative environment. The expected annual salary range for this role is $56,000- $83,000. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
This individual will be responsible for supporting and leading various tasks within the cycle of new product development, as well as contributing to continuous improvement efforts within our Design COE (Center of Excellence). The Design COE is a global team with members in three different locations around the world and this role will have a direct working relationship with them.
You will also work closely with cross-functional teams ranging from Manufacturing/Production to Project Engineering to Industrial Design.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design and development of golf grips, focusing on ergonomics and performance
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using multiple CAD software packages
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring advanced concepts through full design cycle
• Participate in prototype building and testing to make necessary design adjustments
• Utilize a wide range of prototyping and measurement capabilities internal and external to the business
• Prepare and maintain documentation for design processes and modifications
• Increase our speed, reliability and efficiency of our new product development efforts
• Support senior engineers in project planning and execution for Golf Pride and OEM customers like TaylorMade, Callaway, PING, etc.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in golf grip design
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering field
• Experience range 0-3 years
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Rhino3D, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
• Internship or project experience in product design, especially sports equipment
• Knowledge of Rhinoceros 3D CAD software
• Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., , SolidWorks Plastics/Mold Flow, ANSYS, MATLAB).
• Baseline knowledge of rubber injection and/or compression molding process and tool design
• Familiar with various manufacturing, testing and measurement equipment
o 3-axis CNC Mill, EDM, 3D scanning, 3D printing, etc.
