Job description

The Law Office of Erin M. O'Toole: A Private Law Firm, a fast-paced primarily family law firm located on 4th Street N. in St. Petersburg, FL is looking to add an experienced paralegal to our growing firm.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone with prior work experience in customer-facing roles, communicating and scheduling with clients and legal professionals, proficiency with clerical office tasks, and preparing formal documents and binders for Attorney O’Toole. Internships or experience work at law firms are a strong plus.

  • We offer a benefits package including 401(k) with Firm matching after 6 months, and PTO.
  • This is a hybrid position. Fully remote candidates will NOT be considered.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Prepare hearing and trial binders.
    • Mediation and trial preparation.
    • Coordinate scheduling with courts, opposing counsel, clients, experts, and vendors.
    • Manage and oversee attorney calendars, including court hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and deadlines.
    • Track litigation deadlines and ensure timely compliance with court orders and procedural requirements.
    • Provide support to Attorney O’Toole, paralegals, and other administrative staff.
    • Scanning and Filing documents.
    • Organizing client provided documents and other materials.
    • Drafting pleadings, memos, and orders.
    • Gathering and sorting financial documents.
    • Update and organize files within the electronic internal database including Clio Manage and Clio Grow.
    • Draft, revise, proofread, and finalize legal pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, and correspondence.
    • Effectively communicate and work with opposing counsels’ paralegals, judicial assistants, and clients.
  • Requirements:
    • Must have Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Political Justice, History, Philosophy, or other related fields.
    • Must have two (2) years of experience working in a law office/legal environment
    • Must have two (2) years working in customer service/ working with clients.
    • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft office, Clio Manage, and Clio Grow.
    • One (1) year of family law experience is highly preferred.
