Position Summary:
HUGO BOSS is a global market leader in the premium fashion and luxury segment of the apparel market. The Savannah Distribution Center serves as a key logistics hub, receiving and shipping approximately 10 million
units annually to 91 retail stores and over 300 wholesale points of sale across the region.
The Import Logistics Associate is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient clearance of international shipments through U.S. Customs and other government agencies. This role closely monitors inbound shipments, coordinates with internal and external partners, and secures all necessary documentation to achieve compliant, on-time clearance. By rigorously adhering to customs regulations, trade laws, and internal policies and procedures, the Import Logistics Associate safeguards HUGO BOSS from compliance risks while supporting uninterrupted product availability to our customers.
What you can expect:
Key Responsibilities
  • Shipment Monitoring & Coordination
    • Track inbound international shipments from origin to arrival at the Savannah Distribution Center.
    • Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues.
    • Support the scheduling and coordination of deliveries to ensure efficient receiving operations.
  • Customs & Compliance Support
    • Assist in gathering, reviewing, and organizing required customs documentation (e.g.,commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of landing, HTS classifications, country-of-origin details).
    • Support the Import Coordinator/Manager in ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs and Border
    • Protection (CBP) regulations and other applicable government agency requirements.
    • Help maintain accurate and compliant records for audits and internal controls.
  • Data Management & Systems
    • Enter and update shipment, customs, and delivery information in logistics and ERP systems with high data accuracy.
    • Assist with reconciling shipment data between internal systems, brokers, and carriers, flagging and resolving discrepancies.
    • Prepare standard reports (e.g., shipment status, clearance progress, delays) for the logistics team and management.
  • Operational Collaboration
    • Coordinate closely with warehouse operations to ensure smooth handover of cargo upon clearance and arrival.
    • Support communication with internal teams (e.g., Planning, Customer Service, Retail,
    • Wholesale) regarding expected delivery dates, shipment status, and potential impacts.
    • Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and service quality in import logistics.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
    • 1-2 years of experience in logistics, import/export, transportation, or distribution center operations preferred; internships or co-op experience welcome.
  • Technical & Functional Skills
    • Basic understanding of international logistics and import processes (e.g., shipping documents, Incoterms, customs clearance) is an advantage.
    • Comfortable working with ERP/WMS or transportation/logistics systems; experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
    • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook (e.g., basic spreadsheets, tracking reports, email communication).
    • Strong numerical and data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and consistency.

    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously.
