Job description

As a Product Engineer in the SoC Test Supply Chain Division team, you will aim:

  • to drive Advantest towards operational excellence in an outsourced manufacturing
    environment,
  • to drive manufacturing processes' optimization, cost reduction and quality improvement
    initiatives,
  • to take supply chain metrics towards defined goals working closely with our contract
    manufacturers, internal teams in Development, Supply Chain and Product Marketing in a very
    international environment,
  • to manage quality, product changes and technical supply chain processes of products to
    constantly fulfill customer and business requirements,
  • to provide special technical advice to peers and management,
  • to actively drive supply chain requirements into hardware and test software design to achieve
    efficient and predictable manufacturability by utilizing the capabilities of our partners,
  • to bring new instruments of the V93000 IC tester into production on time,
  • to do all the above without close and constant supervision, neither from peers nor from
    managers.
  • A bachelor's or master's or PhD degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
  • Ideally a basic knowledge of mechanics or mechanical engineering.
  • A basic knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing processes of high-level electronic assemblies
  • Good knowledge (ideally practical) of printed circuit assembly development and manufacturing processes (such as work preparation, setup, screen printing, SMT assembly, inspection etc.)
  • Analytical skills in failure detection (data analysis to identify HW errors, electronic measurements and debugging electronic assemblies).
  • Ideally a basic knowledge of statistics and statistical process control.
  • Ideally a basic knowledge of LINUX and C (or any of its variants) or Python.
  • Proactive, flexible, and innovative mindset with problem-solving skills, demonstrating strong ownership.
  • Good communication skills and team player in cross-functional, cross-company and international (overseas) teams.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English: confident use of technical terms, e.g. when creating documentation and ideally, at least B1 level (intermediate) in German.
  • Positive attitude and confident demeanour when dealing with suppliers and customers.
  • Good self-organization and self-motivation are required to thrive in the constantly changing work environment of this multi-faceted job.
