Client Overview
Our client is a beauty and personal care company focused on color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance innovation. They are known for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture and a strong pipeline of new product innovation across their portfolio. They are currently seeking a Product Innovation Manager to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$60/hr - $72/hr
Position Overview
The Product Innovation Manager will own the product innovation pipeline from concept through final formula and packaging. This role is highly cross-functional, working closely with teams across the organization to bring new products to market. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for beauty, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable driving a high volume of innovation.
Responsibilities Of The Product Innovation Manager
  • Own the product development lifecycle from concept through launch, managing timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Define and evolve the product roadmap in line with brand strategy, while optimizing the existing portfolio.
  • Lead cross-functional communication on product briefs, artwork, packaging, formula feedback, and project timelines.
  • Guide formula and texture development in partnership with R&D, tracking progress against key milestones.
  • Propose ingredient and benchmark recommendations that elevate and expand on product concepts.
  • Manage and negotiate product costs to stay competitive, monitoring formula costs throughout development.
  • Identify, build, and manage relationships with new and existing manufacturing partners.
  • Coordinate closely with domestic and overseas partners on sample approvals and production timelines.
  • Drive market, competitive, and scientific research to inform the development process.
  • Lead clinical and consumer claims testing, and run consumer surveys to inform future iterations.
  • Support international registration requirements, including compliant claims and artwork.
  • Provide cross-functional teams with detailed product documentation on formulas, ingredients, and claims.
  • Partner with the Sales and Fulfillment teams to forecast inventory needs and support order follow-through.
  • Support execution of multi-year launch calendars in line with broader business goals.
  • Participate in regular calls with international partners/manufacturing teams as needed.
Required Experience/Skills For The Product Innovation Manager
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in fragrance and/or color cosmetics development.
  • Experience managing vendor and manufacturing partner relationships.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple concurrent timelines.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, fairly unstructured environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
