Job description

POSITION: Community Outreach & Community Events Intern
DEPARTMENT: Community Outreach
REPORTS TO: Sr.Vice President, Community Outreach
STATUS: Internship, Unpaid (In-Person) - Summer
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in Community Outreach and Events. Intern will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field. Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
  • Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization
  • Exposure to the day-to-day administrative operations of a Community Outreach department
  • Learning the fundamentals and operational details to coordinate community programs and events
  • Gain knowledge with the collection, organization, and database storage of communication documents
  • Assist in collecting statistics and data from the Orange Bowl Football & Basketball High School Showcases
  • Acquiring a high-level of understanding on the preparation and execution of events & programs for the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA), Cheer Camp, Youth Football Clinics and prepare for Park of the Week.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Orange Bowl Family Fun Fit Day set-up and activities.
  • Work with the events department on executing various events
  • Other duties as assigned

PREREQUISITES
  • Pursuing a degree and/or career in Community Outreach/Relations, Community Programs or Event Management
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher and typing skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  • Valid Driver's License

Note:Preferred commitment of a minimum of 30-40 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule. Ability to work weekends is a requirement for this role.
