Job description

The Director of Pastoral Care will provide pastoral ministry in a manner which exemplifies the philosophy, mission and values of Pastoral Care Services of BHSF. The Director will act as worship leader, counselor, advocate-mediator, educator, and spiritual guide. He/she will maintain his/her relationship with the endorsing religious denomination by keeping it current and in good standing at all times while employed by BHSF. The Director will hire, supervise, evaluate and discharge all department personnel including Staff Chaplains, interns, and clerical staff, and volunteers. The Director will lead the creation, development and implementation of all programming, policies and procedures, as outlined in the Department's Policies and Procedures Manual. The Director will be responsible for the development and the fiscal management of each annual budget. The Director is also responsible for oversight and management of hospital's Employee Sunshine Fund and assist with hospital based Financial Hardship Program (Charity). He/she is also a member of the Hospital's Bio-Ethics Committee and the System's Ethics Committee. The Director will be held accountable to the highest level of professional ethics and moral conduct as a spiritual leader within Baptist Health South Florida and related communities.Estimated salary range for this position is $91132.84 - $118472.69 / year depending on experience.Degrees:
  • Masters.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Board Certified Chaplain.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Masters of Divinity or equivalent theological degree.
  • Ministerial Ordination in good standing.
  • Up to date denominational endorsement for ministry in the healthcare setting.
  • Four units of clinical pastoral education or equivalent training and experience.
  • Leadership and management experience in a healthcare based chaplaincy program required.
  • Board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains or one who would meet the criteria for certification within one year from employment.
Minimum Required Experience: 3 Years
