JOB SUMMARY
:

The feature writer on the Discover Universal Blog team will play a role in contributing to the overall editorial strategy and execution of high quality and rich storytelling with a focus on articles that build our brand. They'll help establish and sustain our brand tone in a way that connects emotionally with our customers and assist in executing a guest-first editorial content strategy. This experience will help the intern hone their writing, interviewing, and editing skills, while polishing their ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling storytelling.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Develops, writes and edits news/evergreen content, planning series, destination guides, guest stories, etc.
  • Participates in editorial brainstorms and weekly editorial meeting.
  • Assists with the management of the Discover Universal Blog as a digital platform - uploads content, resizes images, and ensures updates are made on content homepage.
  • Works with Senior Editor on SEO initiatives and best practices.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:ย 
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.ย 
  • A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Preferred majors include: Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or similar.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
