About The Team

The Legal, Compliance, Audit and Risk organization plays a critical role in ensuring that T. Rowe Price operates within legal and regulatory frameworks while upholding ethical standards and mitigating risks across the firm. We are actively engaged with our business partners and external partnerships to help the firm navigate a very complex environment.

About This Position

The Risk intern will provide support across Business Risk, Enterprise Risk Management and Global Privacy via special projects.Within this role, the intern will apply knowledge to improve risk management and develop an understanding of organizational risk culture and the application to assigned business line through standards, guidelines and regulations. Through use of independent judgment and discretion, the intern will examine existing processes, operational controls, and policies to identify control gaps.

Role Summary

The T. Rowe Price internship program includes a formal orientation, peer and senior mentor assignments, and formal learning opportunities. In addition to the work assignments within the assigned department, interns also gain exposure to associates and senior leaders across the firm through an executive speaker series, networking and social events, and engagement with our Business Resource Groups.

Responsibilities

  • Develops understanding of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls to advise the business line with executing the risk program.
  • May assist in drafting reports as instructed. Responsible for assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the risks inherent in the business activities.
  • Assists with monitoring compliance across the business line, identifying issues as they arise. Develops and evaluates potential courses of action to address issues identified and suggests and compares alternative solutions.
  • Assists more senior professionals in their partnership with internal stakeholders, researching and providing information as requested. Acts as liaison between internal stakeholders; facilitates discussions and coordinates reviews.
  • Conducts business change assessments to identify operational changes impacting assigned reports.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Open to all majors
  • Full time student pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date of May/June 2027-2028
  • Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

Preferred:

  • Majors in risk management, data analytics, business administration
  • Experience with project management, risk assessments, stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with AI tools for research, analysis, and productivity, with interest in expanding usage as tools evolve
  • Full time student pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date of May/June 2028
  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
