As a Systems Engineer I, you will apply foundational skills in key areas such as requirements engineering, systems integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will assist in system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision. You will contribute to project tasks with basic knowledge in architecture/design development, technical monitoring, and lifecycle management, while effectively communicating and collaborating with team members. You are expected to demonstrate eagerness to learn and grow within the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in basic requirements engineering, systems integration, V&V, and MBSE tasks.
  • Support system and decision analysis, technical planning, and risk management under supervision.
  • Contribute to project tasks with foundational knowledge in. architecture/design development and technical monitoring.
  • Participate in lifecycle management activities.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and grow within the field.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
  • Basic understanding of Systems modeling and simulation tools.
  • Basic Understanding of multiple Engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Conceptual knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Internship or cooperative education experience in systems engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Understanding of requirements management and system modelling tools, such as Jama, Cameo, MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard system engineering design principles, to include, classical and MBSE.
  • Experienced or certified in International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) standards [Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)].
  • Familiarity with baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternatives.
  • Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for system modeling and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
