Job description

We're looking for enthusiastic, fun, and energetic people who take the work seriously, but not themselves. Let's see if we're a fit. We hope so.
Why This Role
Mainsail Lodging & Development manages more than 25 distinct hospitality concepts across the Southeast and Caribbean, from private island resorts to boutique southern hotels to historic landmarks, each with its own social voice and audience. As Social Media Intern, you'll get hands-on exposure to how a multi-brand portfolio runs its social strategy day to day, working directly with our Social Media Manager and corporate marketing team.
This is a great fit for someone who loves the details: staying organized, keeping brands on-voice, and making sure content goes out right and on time.
About Us
Mainsail Lodging & Development, based in Tampa, Florida, is an award-winning hospitality company specializing in hotel, resort, and short-term furnished living, marketing, and sales. Our portfolio spans the southeastern U.S. and Caribbean, featuring distinct properties that include private island resorts, boutique southern hotels, urban culinary destinations, and historic landmarks. Each property showcases exceptional design, thoughtful service, and outstanding food and beverage experiences. Learn more at MainsailHotels.com.
What You'll Do
  • Social Publishing: Support publishing across Mainsail's portfolio, with content provided by the Social Media Manager
  • Facebook Events: Build and maintain Events for hotel promotions, activations, and other initiatives.
  • Stories & Real-Time Content: Post manual Instagram Stories and other real-time content; queue scheduled Stories in our social scheduling platform.
  • UGC Sourcing: Identify and source user-generated content from guests and followers for use across brand channels.
  • Google & LinkedIn: Create and publish Google Business Profile posts and LinkedIn content for participating hotels and corporate channels.
  • Content Organization: Help organize and maintain content within our scheduling platform.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay current on platform features and trends, and bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • General Support: Assist the Social Media Manager and marketing team with projects and day-to-day needs as they come up.

What You'll Gain
  • A portfolio of real, published work across a diverse multi-brand hospitality portfolio
  • Direct mentorship from our Social Media Manager and corporate marketing team
  • Exposure to brand strategy discussions, not just execution
  • Hands-on experience with Sprout Social and multi-platform content workflows
  • Potential for a letter of recommendation/consideration for future openings

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, hospitality, or a related field
  • Previous social media, marketing, hospitality, or communications experience a plus
  • Experience with Sprout Social or similar platform preferred
  • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile; Meta Business Suite a bonus
  • Must be local to Tampa Bay and available for a hybrid schedule

Skills
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail
  • Organized, able to juggle multiple brands, projects, and deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Ability to adopt distinct brand voices across concepts

Other Requirements
  • Ability to work extended periods at a computer in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasional travel within Southwest Florida for property support or events, if needed
