BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Senior MRI Advanced Modality Technologist for Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) located at Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Radiation Oncology Department
Position Details:
  • NO CALL or Weekends!!!
  • Day Shift Hours: Monday - Friday

  • Radiology, Medical Imaging, Cancer Care, Radiation Therapy, RT(T), Dosimetry, Radiation Oncology

Requirements:
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography - R.T.(R) and/or MR
  • Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency (or higher level of education)
  • 2 years' experience

Experience:
  • MRI Licensed (preferred)

Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The Radiation Oncology Department houses a variety of therapeutic equipment, including 8 linear accelerators; a full Brachytherapy suite; a Gamma Knife center; two CT simulators and a dedicated MRI unit. The department supports two radiation therapy technology programs and a medical dosimeter programs via affiliations with local universities.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Performs all responsibilities of a Advanced Modality Technologist and assumes responsibilities of the Lead Tech in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Senior Advance Modality Technologist must have 3 or more responsibilities within the following categories: hospital/department initiatives, patient experience and employee engagement, quality assurance, process improvement and mentorship. Performs all responsibilities under the direction of lead/charge of advanced modality technologist.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
  • Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other site as required by work area.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance for the department (ACR, JC). Maintains up-to-date regulatory information. Oversees department quality assurance program under the direction of the Clinical Instructor or Lead/Charge.
  • Participates in department or hospital safety/quality process improvements and initiatives. Leads the team in improving patient experience and/or improving employee engagement.
  • Mentors new employee and/or clinical students under the direction of the CI.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
