Job description

The Coordinator of International Student Services oversees the recruitment, registration, non-academic advising, and support of degree-seeking international students.  The Coordinator serves as Principal Designated School Official with the SEVP and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Coordinator supports international students by providing ongoing immigration advising and developing on-campus programming for international students, partnering with multiple campus offices to enhance international student retention.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Advise applicants and accepted students on SEVIS regulations, work authorizations, visa compliance and similar to ensure legal residency requirements are met and documented. 
Collaborate with campus stakeholders to develop and execute recruitment strategy, work with recruiting vendors, attend recruitment events. 
Assist admitted international students in according with policies and procedures to ensure enrollment into APSU programs. 
Support international students by providing ongoing immigration advising and developing on-campus programming catered to their needs. 
Conduct outreach and orientation events for accepted incoming international students. 
Compile reports pertaining to international student applications, enrollment, retention, and graduation. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively when speaking in group and one-on-one settings

Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer using a variety of software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; 

Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with various populations, student groups, the university community, and the public

Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks, and to multi-task

Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to work independently and to contribute to team and office goals

Ability and willingness to travel as needed domestically and internationally

Willingness to work outside of the standard workday hours as needed

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree, Master's Preffered

A minimum of one year related work experience in the area of international education, student services, and/or ESL.

US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required for professional practice as a Designated School Official.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
