The International Logistics Procurement Analyst - Transportation plays a critical role in driving strategic sourcing initiatives and optimizing logistics spend across all modes of international transportation, including ocean, air, domestic truckload, LTL, and intermodal. This position is responsible for deep-dive analytics on freight expenditures, assessing carrier performance metrics, and contributing to contract negotiation strategies to ensure timely, cost-effective, and reliable movement of goods throughout the supply chain.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and extensive experience in international transportation procurement, ocean carrier management, and logistics operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Strategic Transportation Analysis: Analyze freight spend data to uncover trends, identify cost drivers, and generate actionable savings insights. Research market trends, fuel pricing, and regulations to inform cost-optimized sourcing strategies.

  • Sourcing & Contract Management: Support transportation RFPs and bid events through data prep, evaluation, and award modeling. Assist in drafting contracts and tracking compliance to mitigate risk and ensure alignment with terms.

  • Carrier & Rate Oversight: Monitor performance metrics like on-time delivery and claims, recommending corrective actions. Maintain rate databases and ensure accurate application of tariffs and accessorial charges.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure procurement strategies align with broader business objectives and operational requirements.

  • Reporting & Decision Support:Develop dashboards and analytical reports to support data-driven decision-making and communicate insights to leadership.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:

  • International Transportation Expertise: Knowledge of ocean freight modes, Incoterms, and transportation regulations a plus

  • TMS Platforms: Familiarity with TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP TM, MercuryGate) and sourcing tools like Jaggaer

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in international logistics, ocean carrier management, transportation procurement, or supply chain management.

  • Strong understanding of global transportation markets, ocean carrier operations, service contracts, and carrier negotiations, Experience working directly with global ocean carriers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and customs brokers.experiences

  • Experience managing RFQ/RFP procurement processes, carrier/vendor relationships, and transportation sourcing strategies.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including:
