Role Description The Import Export Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Missouri City, TX. This role coordinates day-to-day import and export activities, including preparing and reviewing shipping documents, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and tracking shipments from origin to destination. The specialist works closely with customs brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, optimize transit times, and manage costs. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, updating systems with shipment status, monitoring regulatory changes, and supporting customers with timely, clear communication. The role also contributes to process improvements and supports the development of best practices for global logistics operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Import, Export, and Import Export processes, including documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with International Trade regulations, trade terms (Incoterms), and global logistics practices.
  • Familiarity with Customs Brokerage procedures and coordination with brokers and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in using logistics, transportation, or ERP systems and standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word).
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving shipment issues and optimizing routes and costs.
  • Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is beneficial.
